Continuous Power & Consumption Management (for S.E.E.M.P.)

The Continuous Power & Consumption Management application for S.E.E.M.P. by VAF Ιnstruments combines:

  • VAF T-Sense® Optical Torque Meter
  • VAF Flowmeters (MidFlow type PT2 preferably, but not exclusively)
  • VAF ViscoSense®3D, enabling also mass flow measurement
  • Ship’s Speedlog or GPS
  • Anemometer
  • Inclinometer
  • Draught meter

All inputs of the above listed sensors can be connected to the Signal Processing Unit SPU3 which produces valuable and accurate measuring data on an LCD Touch Screen display, the Performance Efficiency Monitor (PEM4).

The application has been proved to reduce the ship’s fuel consumption up to 5%, creating significant profits for the Shipowners.

Alternatively, the TT-Sense® Optical Torque and Thrust Meter can be installed instead of a T-Sense®, offering accurate hull and propeller fouling measurements.

At all cases, the IVY® Propulsion Performance Management System is able to handle and enrich the measured data, enabling visualization of valuable KPIs. The IVY® software can be incorporated in the SPU3 and ship to shore communication is achieved through the IVY® cloud.
