Fuel Oil Blending Systems
  • Production of oil blend using two different fuel oil products (HFO, MDO) in-line, delivering a homogeneous mix of both products at a lower grade.
  • The flow of the HFO is regulated by a frequency-controlled pump to a fixed set point, calculated from the desired flow in-line.
  • To this HFO product, a flow of MDO is added, regulated by means of an electrically operated control valve.
  • Adjusting the blend ratio by regulation of the MDO flow, a change of viscosity grade of the resulting product (blend) is succeeded.
  • VAF Viscosense Viscosity sensor/transmitter constantly monitors the blend for the dynamic viscosity. The blend ratio is then adjusted automatically using the measured viscosity at the corrected temperature (50oC). As such, the described blend is delivered.
  • The same unit can be used for delivery of HFO or MDO.
